Iron City Squares - "Learn to Square Dance" class
Iron City Squares, Pittsburgh's only LGBT Square Dance Club, is offering a six-week "Learn to Square Dance" class beginning Wednesday, September 26, 2007. The cost of the class is $24 for the six weeks. Iron City Squares is a casual, singles-friendly group, so a partner and traditional "squareware" attire are not required Beginners are more than welcome.
Square Dancing is a medium- to high-energy, low-impact aerobic activity and a great way to meet new people. Iron City Squares is an affiliate of the International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs (IAGSDC) with clubs all over the country and around the world. IAGSDC clubs host numberous dances, "fly-ins" (weekend dance parties), and conventions (2008 in Cleveland and 2009 in D.C.!)
The club's new caller, Blaine Knupp, will be leading the classes. Blaine is replacing club founder and caller Chi Chi Hoffner-Stolarick who has relocated.
For more information or to RSVP, contact Blaine Knupp at beknupp@yahoo.com or (724)464-4324.
