[GLENDA] Build a Playground in a Day
"Build a Playground in a Day"
Sunday, August 17, at Community Day School (6424 Forward Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217)
8:30 AM to 3:30 PM or any portion of that time
Community Day School is providing childcare and children's activities as well as lunch.
Community Day School, a Jewish day school in Squirrel Hill (http://www.communitydaypgh.org/), is "Building a Playground in a Day." Volunteers are needed to build a playground to be used by the students of Community Day School as well as by the children who live near the school. The current playground (which was also built by volunteers) is 12 years old and is rotting as it is made out of wood.
The new playground was designed by the sixth graders at the school and is very innovative. It is the first of this type of playground to be built in Western PA.
Please email Elyse at socialworker05@gmail.com if you are a YES or MAYBE for volunteering from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM or any portion of that time. Volunteers will be putting together playground components, replacing the mulch around the playground, running the children's activities, and more.
GLENDA volunteers will be mixed in with the other volunteers. Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
