"For the Bible Tells Me So" opens Jan 25

Opens Jan 25 at Harris Theater:
For the Bible Tells Me So

"Thought-provoking portrait of a quiet challenge rising within America's
churches." - Chicago Tribune

Is the Bible an excuse to hate? This compelling doc gets at the
historical distortions of the Good Book as well as the ease with which
holy writings have been exploited in America. A winner for Best
Documentary at the Seattle International Film Festival, it's informed by
such respected voices as Bishop Desmond Tutu, and Harvard's Peter Gomes.
We also meet five very Christian, very American families - including
those of former House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt and Episcopalian
Bishop Gene Robinson. We discover how insightful people of faith handle
the realization of having a gay child. Very rational and often quite
moving, the film offers clarity and understanding to anyone caught in
the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity. (Daniel Karsake; USA;
2007; 98 min)

Support the GLCC just by searching the web or shopping online

What if the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Pittsburgh could earn
a penny every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a
percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our
cause?

Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half
its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities
its users designate.  Use it just as you would any search engine, get
quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37
percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great
stores including Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes &
Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order,
you'll be supporting your favorite cause.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter the Gay and Lesbian
Community Center of Pittsburgh as the charity you want to support.
And, be sure to spread the word!
