MEET LILY TOMLIN & SUPPORT THE GLCC!

An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin

February 7, 2009 at the Benedum Center

Performance at 8:00 PM

Followed by a Meet and Greet reception benefiting the GLCC

If the names: Edith Ann, Madame Lupe, Judith Beasley or Trudy make you think of Lily Tomlin and you would enjoy a night of Classic Lily Tomlin, followed by a meet and greet after the show, you are in luck!

One of America's foremost comediennes, Lily Tomlin brings an extraordinary, award-winning career that spans Broadway, film and television to Pittsburgh. "An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin" is a nostalgic presentation of more than a dozen of her famous characters including Edith Ann, the precocious five-and-a-half-year-old, Trudy, the New York City bag woman who plays host to visiting aliens, Ernestine the telephone operator, and Lucile the rubber addict. It will be a night of sidesplitting comedy, woven in with Lily's affectionate reminiscences of her Midwest childhood.

Inner Vagabond Nite, Ray Vega Latin Jazz and more!

First of all, let me say "thanks" for the fantastic Global Beats New
Year's Bash event! I was impressed to see so much enthusiasm and such
a variety of people! The comments were very positive and I think the
event is a "keeper!" Special thanks to Lanxess Corporation, the
Multicultural Arts Initiative and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for
believing that Global Beats can be a platform to celebrate and unite
unique cultures of the world through a distinctively groovy kind of
night! Big hugs to Kokolo band members for their good vibes!

Pictures can be viewed at:

******

On Friday, January 9th, Global Beats is partnering with Your Inner
Vagabond World and Coffee Lounge! This wonderful new partnership is
important because similar to Global Beats, YIV strives to provide a
community crossroads that promotes relaxation, socialization and
cultural interaction through its coffee house. The party begins at 8
pm and I'll be presenting a selection of "global chillout" music for
all tastes! I'll also be celebrating my birthday on this special
night and your presence means a lot.

Details on the event:

Address: 4130 Butler St in Lawrenceville (near Strip District)

Cover: $3.00 and you can bring your own alcoholic beverage. Try
their excellent selection of middle-eastern appetizers as well! For
more information visit: http://www.yourinnervagabond.com

Party with a cause: a donation of $10 is suggested in lieu of
birthday gifts. This will go to one of my favorite charities, the
Dreams Can Be Foundation, to help needy children in Brazil. I truly
believe that it is in giving that we receive. Can't come but would
like to join my cause? Donate online at http://www.dreamscanbe.org/
